Spreadsheet - Weekly Sheets

Name and location

Located between League sheet and the fixtures sheet  in the main spreadsheet. This sheet is where the weekly analysis goes comparing predicted outcomes with actual scores and calculating points totals per player.

Outputs:

  • The button 'New Sheet' when clicked will run a macro that creates the next weeks sheet as a blank template into which fixtures and then predictions and finally actual scores need to be entered.

  • Ctrl'P (Print) will create a PDF snapshot of the Fixtures the predictions and the current point totals this is often shared in the WhatsApp group. It is a two page formatted PDF final week example here, and interim example here.

Tables in this sheet include:

  • Fixture List -  Every week this needs to be hand modified to agree with the actual times and days for the ten games, it is grabbed from the fixtures sheet but will almost always need to be modified as game KO times can change in the days before the week starts. It is vital the the contents of these cells are type text, the KO times needs to be prefaced with a ' in order that Excel does not try to format it more cleverly. DO NOT cut-paste as this will cause changes to the underlying formula - use copy-paste and then delete the fixture from or in the place it is NOT required.

  • Fixtures Outcomes - this will calculate and collate the points per predictor as the actual scores come in. This is done using a custom created function called calcScore() - it can be found in the spreadsheets VBA project a text copy is here.

  • Actual Predicted - these charts/tables compare predictions to actuals

  • Analysis of types of predictions creates the raw data that is summarised on the League worksheet.
